Here I am!

Being a mom is suuuuppperrr. So is staying home from work everyday! I am not really all that busy but I seem to find lots of crap to do besides blog. I am looking at my sweet baby right now and she is frowning at me. I think that she is thinking that I am the worst blogger ever. Now I think she is pooping.

I was talking with my family last night saying that one of the reasons I haven't been blogging is because I don't want this blog to be the all about Blake blog. I am still a person and I still have thoughts but right now they are pretty much all about how freaking cute Blake is so I don't want to bore everyone with that. I want to have something else to talk about. And my dad had a great point...No one cares about what I want to say right now, they just want to see pictures of Blake. Good point, dad. So here you go!!!!

Bathroom Update

No baby yet...but I am done with school until March. That seems weird. Especially since there is no baby yet. But whatever.

Ryan and Jonathan did everything except the tile! They did a fabulous job!

It should be finished today. The tile setters are coming at 1:00 to grout (spelling??) and lay the remainder of the tile. Then Ryan just has to finish the dry wall, texture and paint. Any suggestions on paint color?? We have no clue what we are going to do.

Tomorrow is my pick...

I know most of you are used to me sucking at keeping up with my blog but I still feel like I need to apologize. So...sorry. I have come home almost everyday for the last two-three weeks and sat on my butt on the couch. So there is really no reason for me not to walk into the spare bedroom, sit down at the computer and create a new post but it just didn't happen.

Obviously, I am still pregnant. I really didn't want all my posts to just be about pregnancy so maybe that is why I haven't posted lately...since that is ALL I think about. I get a break at school...I have to think about what I am going to teach and I have to think about not hurting some of my students and I have to think about not being mean to my coworkers everytime they say "You're still here???" (No, idiot face, I am not here...that's why I am still big and pregnant and standing right in front of you) So I do get to think of some other things during the day but when I get home all I think about is when she is going to get here.

At Thanksgiving we all picked days that we thought Blake would arrive. My day is tomorrow. I don't think it's going to happen. I feel pretty good. I have been having some contractions, mainly in my back, but nothing that is going to lead to a baby being forced out of a tiny opening. Oh yeah, I've been thinking about that a lot too. God has been teaching me about a lot about patience and giving up control these last few days. So for now, I sit calmly waiting for her arrival. I will not be bitter if she does not come tomorrow. I will not be bitter if she does not come tomorrow. I will be bitter if she comes on Ryan's day...January 3rd. Thanks Ryan. I love you babe. Even though that is a really stupid guess.

I have been reading many blogs of people who were in Abilene or surrounding areas during the grrrrreeeeaaaattttt snow day on Thanksgiving. But I bet you didn't get to experience the snow in a pair of these...

You shouldn't be jealous. I did look really hot, though.

Update on a few things:

We have decided to remodel the pink bathroom. I know, big mistake because pink is really fashionable these days but we are doing it anyway. Here is the progress so far:

The new tile is ordered and while I type this Ryan is tearing down more walls and Blakester is jumping all over the place. Speaking of the baby...here is an updated picture. It is a little old, only five weeks left now but it's better than nothing.

If you look closely, you can see the bird peeking out of my pants...it's never done that before. Yikes.

Halloween Hotness

We had a really exciting pre-halloween extravaganza at H & J's. Sorry I am a little late posting these. We decided to go over to their house for chili and pumpkin carving and then Ryan thought of dressing up. The only rule was that the costumes had to come from something in your closet. Enjoy...

Here is my 9 week countdown pic. Please don't look too closely at my sicko roots (thank you prenatal vitamins) or my morning face. Ryan decided he wanted to take this before I left for school at 7:00 am.

This past Saturday we had a couples shower with lots of our friends and family. It was super fun and we got lots of great things! I don't think this is everyone that was there but it is everyone that counts...just kidding!!! We decided to take this pic at the end of the evening so some people were already gone! Thanks to everyone who came, you made it very special for us! And we can't wait to see Blake in her homemade onesies!!!

This was the greatest idea ever so you can steal it if you want to. Each couple decorated a onesie or a hat for Blake. There were some really awesome ones!!! She will wear them all!

I love the fall. I love when it starts to get cold and it gets dark early...that means Christmas and Thanksgiving are right around the corner!!! (Not in that order, of course) Cold weather maternity clothes are few and far between in my closet right now...so I need it to stay fair for a little longer.

I hate when I am lazy and don't blog because then I have a lot to write about but then ADD sets in and I can't sit here and focus long enough to blog about all of it. So here is a brief rundown...

We went to the lake with Ryan's family a couple of weekends ago and it was awesome!! I borrowed a maternity swimsuit but luckily was able to keep a tanktop and shorts on most of the time... We ate lots of great food, made campfires and hung out on the lake. It was a great weekend.

This past weekend I went to Abilene with all of my bff's and had a great time at homecoming. Actually we had much more fun just hanging out at night and talking and laughing. It was great to catch up on some much needed girl time. We all came without our sweet husbands and stayed at the house next door to my parents because they were out of town. So we were all close and no one had to pay for a hotel...does it get any better than that? Saturday my mom's friends gave me a shower and we got lots of super cute stuff...I did not take my camera this weekend (awesome.) so I will have to post pictures later but there are many, many great photos.

Blake's bedding is done. And it looks great! I can't decide if I like the pink crib skirt so tell me what you think:

One Step at a Time...

Baby room is now mostly painted. We are going to attempt painting a tree on her wall...actually, that is not true. "We" are not going to be that crafty, Ryan is. So here are a few updated pics.

We also went to the Dave Matthews concert this weekend with our friends Rick, Amy, Darren and Ann. I have been wanting to see Dave for a really long time! I am a huge fan and I thought the show was great...started off a little slow but he finished well!! So, a few pics from that as well.

Yes, I do see the double chin in this picture....maybe I should stay away from Shipley's donuts during the week...

Other than that, not much else to say today. I am trying to suck less...and I always like blogs with pictures.
